It was starting off to be One of Those Days. According to today's Facebook posts, many others around the country were having the same type of day.
For me, it all started when the sun peeked through the clouds (gasp! the sun?! it's gonna be a great day!) only to, five minutes later, hide itself with the most depressing clouds and grayness.
I arrived at play group to find out that Kaia and Elliot's buddies would NOT be in attendance. Apparently, Cole squished a blueberry in his ear and a shower was required. Kaia and Elliot hung around my knee the entire time begging for snacks and Maya. Lucky for me, this is when the day got better...
I politely excused us from play group and we quickly drove ourselves over to Maya and Cole's house. Thank goodness for friends who are willing to have you over at the last minute despite a "messy" house.
After naps, we went on a hunt for non-homogenized milk (that was easy, found it at the Astoria Co-op) AND a gal overheard me asking the clerk about raw milk (illegal in Oregon, dang-it). Girl who overheard me buys raw milk just across the river in Washington and promised to email me their phone number! I've spent a year looking for a local supplier of raw milk. The search may have just ended.
Day getting better? You bet. Sun came out on our way home. I pulled over to snap a shot. Had to document a moment of optimism.
Got home and Mike took the girls to the motel to "help" him work. Oh yeah, I got to make dinner without having to referee two toddlers. Glory hallelujah.
And. Then. Checking my blogs and guess what I see on one of my favorite blogs to follow? Run over to Daily Gnome and take a peek at her adorable daughter wearing one of my onesies. Awwww. I love seeing my onesie in action!
Almost forgot to mention that my kombucha baby arrived along with mung beans (for sprouting).
Not sure if everyone else's day ended up getting better like mine (just read on Facebook that Michelle wants to quit and Laura wants to strike). Tempting...
So, here's to better tomorrows! With more sun, messy houses and kombucha brewing.
