Here's how it played out yesterday...
Me: Kaia, can I give you a hug?
Kaia: No.
Me: Can I give you a kiss?
Kaia: No.
Me: Oh... Bummer.
(Insert very sad face here. I was having a bad day and really just needed a hug to give the day a second chance).
And then...
Kaia: Mom, can I give you a hug?
Me: Yes.
(Insert here The Most Lovely Hug Ever)
Kaia: Can I give you a kiss?
Me: Yes.
(Lucky me, I got attacked by the sweetest pair of puckered lips, complete with loud kissing sound).
Kaia: How was that?
Me: Just what I needed.
