Creating with Kaia: Drawing

Much to my delight, Mike has been taking a Life Drawing course up in Astoria at the Community College.  I love the fact that he has an interest outside of the family and is making new friends.  I also love that he is on a creative exploration - learning new things, stretching himself and then bringing his creativity back home to us.  How wonderful!  I couldn't be more proud of him then when I hear stories about his school buddies, his models, a new technique and his teachers.
As I wrote last week, I've been wanting to get the girls into a more creative mode.  Mike helped me with this by encouraging Kaia to draw him.  Mike started off by showing Kaia his supplies.  So she could understand the process, Mike drew Kaia first.  Just playing around, it all took about ten minutes.  But Kaia really got a kick out of it.
Kaia was quite adamant when instructing Mike on how to pose and what to pose with.  If you look closely, you can see that Mike is holding Puppy and the Horse.  Kaia mimicked Mike's quick movements and wouldn't let me look until she was all done.
That's her first sketch of Mike.  Not sure exactly what she was seeing.  Her second sketch resembled a human (kind of anyway).
Nothing thrills me more than watching Kaia create.
