A Letter to a Brave Woman
Dear Brave Woman,
I read your words and have been meditating on them ever since. I prayed and wondered and hoped that when the Spirit whispered to me that my heart would be quiet enough to hear and that I would have courage enough to respond to... whatever.
I quietly respond now.
I have always only known you by your given name. But no longer. Now I know you by the name the Spirit impressed me with. And I can no longer think of you any other way. Brave Woman.
You are doing what you Need to do and you are doing what you know you Should do. You reach down deep and grab hold of courage. You take a moment to rest in your race. And now you slowly stand to the hands lifting you up and you take your steps, as only you can, to continue in your race. Do you notice those that surround you? Those friends (well known and perhaps not so well known) who are ready to walk with you, carry you if need be, run with you when you can.
I stand nearby, with hand on your shoulder, helping you up. Asking for nothing. It's not necessary. But I am here. Like so many others.
Like so many others.
